BackBye stores purchase and return information so the app can help you track returns, receipts, labels, refunds, and warranties. This page explains what BackBye stores and how it is used.
Information you provide
BackBye is designed to work without requiring an account at launch. You may add purchase details, deadlines, notes, store names, order numbers, amounts, tracking numbers, and warranty information. This information is stored so the app can show it back to you.
Receipts and documents
When you scan, upload, or share a receipt, screenshot, PDF, URL, or text into BackBye, BackBye stores that content so you can review it later alongside the purchase it belongs to.
App functionality
The information you save is used to show your returns, organize receipts and labels, follow return shipments you add, track refund status you update, and remind you about return windows and warranties you have entered.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, BackBye uses them to remind you about upcoming return deadlines and warranty dates you have saved.
Share extension
When you use the BackBye share extension from another app, the content you choose to share (such as a receipt image, PDF, URL, or selected text) is sent into BackBye for review and saving. BackBye does not read content from other apps unless you share it.
In-app purchases
Version 1.0 of BackBye is free. If paid features are added in the future, in-app purchases will be handled by Apple and processed through the App Store. BackBye does not collect payment card information.
Data storage
The launch version of BackBye is designed to work locally on your device. If future features introduce optional sync or backup, you will be informed before any data leaves your device.
Third-party services
BackBye does not sell your purchase or receipt information. Limited third-party services (such as crash reporting or analytics from Apple) may be used to keep the app reliable.
